PEEK,
or polyetheretherketone, is a polymer developed by ICI America
which demonstrates extraordinary chemical resistance, biocompatibility,
and mechanical strength, making it an excellent alternative to
stainless steel for HPLC applications.
MetaChem’s PEEK tubing is extruded to precise tolerances. It’s
concentricity, or TIR, is a mere .001”. This tubing can be used
with polymeric “fingertight” fittings or stainless steel fittings.
PEEK tubing is color coded for internal diameter (ID) for easy
identification. There is absolutely no leaching of color of any
type under any conditions. Our 1/16” OD PEEK tubing is rated to
5000 psi*, temperature stable to 100°C, and extremely flexible.
In fact, PEEK tubing can be cut to any length using a standard
razor blade, or by using the PEEK tubing cutter shown at right.
PEEK is chemically inert to virtually all solvents used in HPLC.
Only methylene chloride, THF, and concentrated nitric acid are
to be avoided.
Standard tubing lengths are five feet but longer lengths are available
upon request.
