Microbore
HPLC columns provide greatly enhanced sensitivity for applications
in which very small quantities of sample are available. Unlike
narrow-bore (2mm and 3mm ID) columns, microbore (1mm) columns
require the use of a specialized, dedicated microbore HPLC
system, equipped with a low-volume injector, low-volume detector
flow cell, micro pump heads capable of accurately delivering
low flow rates, and small-bore connective tubing.
For those chromatographers who have invested the substantial
resources required for a dedicated microbore system, only
to be disappointed by microbore column performance, MetaChem’s
microbore columns will be a welcome change. MetaChem’s 1mm
columns are manufactured with unique, glass-lined hardware
and a sophisticated packing technique which produces columns
of outstanding efficiency and durability. The end-fittings
are zero-dead-volume with extremely low volume frits. Our
sophisticated column packing techniques yield efficiencies
which are comparable to 4.6mm analytical columns.
MetaChem manufactures 1mm columns with a wide variety of packing
chemistries, as detailed in the ordering information section.
Each column is delivered with its actual test chromatogram
(see sample at left).
